Shattered

My first Young Adult release - Shattered - is now available from Amazon. This ain't your typical YA and Amalie's not your every day heroine. When things get rough Amalie fades into the scenery and Stella comes out to run the show.

It's a story too controversial for a traditional press because it deals with Amalie being raped by the man she later learns to be her half-brother and she also becomes pregnant with twins. One of the babies is Rowan, my anti-heroine from Headlocks & Hexes.

Much to Odessa's dismay, when Amalie goes into labor she is able to see the ghost of her father, William Fletcher. Odessa thinks she really comes across as a mean whacked out bitch of a witch. You'll have to give it a read and see what you think.

Infinity

My anti Valentine's Day novella - Infinity - will be released within in the next few days.

It's a Valentine's Day like no other when three people - the witchy mistress, the scorned wife, and the heartbroken best friend - deal with the death of Tampa weatherman Eddie Grant.

Tessa just wants to be reunited with her beloved. If she gets her way, and she usually does, even in death will they not be parted.

Lucy is struggling with her husband's betrayal and looking for love in all the wrong places. At least until a blond haired, blue eyed baby steals her heart.

After losing his wife and then his best friend, Wayne Colton's not really looking for anything other than a stiff drink. He's got a kid that's not his, the responsibility of dealing with a whacked out witch, and maybe - just maybe - a ghost of a chance of getting his life back.

Moon of Cancer

The full moon of Cancer brings about an intensity of emotions like no other.

Some Pagans consider this a cosmic Mother's Day. It is a time to honor those who gave us life and spend time with close friends and family.

The crab teaches us the importance of protecting and tending to one's self. That's why New Year's Resolutions are made around this moon.

I really like the idea in my Llewellyn's Witches' Datebook 2012 of taking a healing bath. I always toss in a handful of Epson salt and add some scented oils to my bathwater.

While soaking you can reflect on upcoming challenges and manifest a plan to tackle the new year. The salt will draw the toxins from your body to leave you refreshed and ready to embrace the changes that are to come.

Here are two links regarding the Cancer Moon that I found interesting:

I'll close with my mantra for 2012...

Every day in a very true way I co-create my reality.
As above, so below.
This is what I know.

More intenSati Method

The intenSati Method is the most powerful fitness book that I have ever read. Patricia Moreno had me hooked as soon as she talked about being up on the competitive stage and still not liking her body and being worried that she wasn't good enough. Been there and done that. Maybe this is why the book resonates with me so deeply. I totally get what she is saying.

I love her approach to the anti-diet. We all know that diets don't work. For weight loss to be permanent you have to change your life style. As some one who is an emotional eater, her one day at a time approach really works for me. Reading this book really helped me to get over the all or nothing mentality I find myself getting caught up in with my previous approaches to fitness. I'm going to go by her 90/10 rule. If you eat healthy 90% of the time it's okay to have an occasional cheat meal to keep you from feeling deprived.

It's best to read the book first with a highlighter and a notebook to jot down notes and the try the DVD. I don't like to call it a workout because I think practice is a more fitting term when embracing a new attitude. The DVD is called - Intensati: Intention and Power - A High Energy Workout for Body Mind and Soul.

Being a former fitness coordinator at a gym I am very particular about fitness classes and videos. This one gets rave reviews. The routines can be adapted to all fitness levels and Patricia encourages you to work at your own pace while also pushing you to keep trying to increase your limits. My only complaint would be for a novice user that the pace might be a little fast on picking up the moves. But, it was okay for me because I know to just go at my own pace and get the moves down before worrying about keeping up with the flow.

Patricia is also very inspiring and looks the part. That's very important for me because I could never take a class from an instructor who was not fitter than me. I used to hate doing lunges, but with the affirmations the lunges were actually fun. I love her whole Whiner to Warrior concept.

If you are looking for something to get you back on track and make the mind/body connection I can't think of anything that works better than The intenSati Method.

The IntenSati Method

This is an incredible book that links the mind and body to create a unique fitness program. Inten derives from intention. Sati is a Pali word that means mindfulness.

IntenSati is the practice of keeping your attention on your thoughts, guiding them and your self-talk deliberately to activate emotions that will empower your fitness goals.

It uses a combination of meditation and yoga to create a workout for both the mind and body.

I think this is going to be just what I have been looking for to get my life back on track.

Reflections

Looking back on 2011 - Where should I begin?

The biggest thing for me was probably connecting with my spirit guide Odessa and embracing my gift as a medium. I'm not one of the TV psychics and I don't see spirits hovering around other people. My ghosts come to me. I can't control who, when or where. It just happens. But thanks to Odessa, I am getting better at shielding. I work with spirit boards and fell safe doing this because with Odessa shielding no negative entities are ever going to get through to me.

I thought my debut novel Headlocks & Hexes had found a home in 2010 with a February 2011 release. Things didn't work out as planned and thank Goddess I got my rights back. I then signed with another epublisher and waited and waited and waited. I think they had the best of intentions, but were just in over their heads. After talking it over with Odessa we decided to once again get the rights back and go indy with my Ring Dreams series.

That put me with two books released in 2011 - Headlocks & Hexes - with a cover I created and adore. Then Desire was released in November. It's rough getting my name out there, but I know I did the right thing with going indy and upholding my vision and intent for my Ring Dreams series.

I finished two manuscripts in 2011. Seances & Suplexes, the sequel to Headlocks & Hexes, will be released in February 2012. I also completed a young adult story, Shattered. I'm currently looking for a home for that one and may try some revisions before making the big decision on whether or not to take it indy.

Snow Angel was my first step away from my Ring Dreams series. It was published in Evernight Publishings Stockings & Suspenders 2011 Holiday Anthology. The anthology is an All Romance best seller and has gotten great reviews.

In 2012 I hope to finish Demon Child and Bleeding Hearts. Both of these are true stories from Odessa's previous life. Of course we're calling them fiction and making a few slight changes to protect the not so innocent.

I also plan to further develop my skills as a medium and possible write some more short stories. I've been toying with the idea of doing an astrological based series of erotic stories with each sign of the Zodiac.

All I know for sure is I plan to let Spirit guide my way into 2012 and hope for a prosperous and blessed new year.

Namaste!
